By a twist of fate, Clara Manni, a photogenic Milanese shop assistant, gets the leading role in "Addio Signora", Italian movie producer Gianni Franchi's latest romantic drama. As a result, the statuesque brunette becomes an overnight sensation in Rome. But the more the small role transforms Clara into a silver-screen diva, catapulting her into stardom, the more the young ingenue feels deceived. After all, the glamorous movie industry is a cruel world rife with false promises. Now, failed relationships and disastrous choices crush Clara's dreams.
