Two brothers Frank (Charlie Hunnam) & Bruce (Chris O'Dowd) seek the help of a transgender hacker Phyllis (Ron Perlman) in erasing all evidence of a sex tape from the internet before the unhinged movie star father Jack (Chris Noth) of the girl involved Lassie (Lizzy Caplan) seeks violent revenge.Frank & Bruce are brothers & Bruce is horrible and manipulative. Bruce loves to make home videos, so he would create elaborate pranks and film them while he lures Frank into them and makes a complete fool of him. 25 years later, Frank is a writer and hasn't spoken to Bruce in 3 years. Her mother forces him to come to Bruce's coming home from rehab. Bruce lives with his parents Chris (Sam Anderson) and Karen (Nora Dunn). Karen is very forgiving of Bruce, even though he stole their car and sold them for drugs. Karen is protective of Bruce, but Chris tries to be more balanced between Bruce and Frank. Bruce was in rehab with Dharma D-Cup (an actress who has been in many porn movies) & her movie producer, Jack. Bruce also reveals that he has turned director. Claudia is Bruce's editor.Apparently, Bruce had done something terrible at Frank's wedding & filmed it & uploaded it to you tube, which got 18 million hits. Frank was so humiliated that now he lives alone in a trailer out in the desert. Frank was only marrying since the girl he was dating got pregnant. Apparently, Frank found out watching Bruce's video that his fiance was cheating on him, and it wasn't even his child. It belonged to his best man. So, Frank hit her in the face & threw up on her.Coming home from Bruce's party, Bruce & Frank have a big fight. Frank then finds a drunk girl in the street who passes out. Frank decides to help and puts her in his car. He waits in a parking lot for the girl to wake up, so he can take her home. The girl wakes up & says that she doesn't have a place to stay as she found that her boyfriend is gay. Frank takes her back to his parent's place to his room, without anyone finding out. There, the girl Lassie, comes on really strong onto Frank (she says that Frank can do pretty much anything to her and puts her hand down his pants) & they start having sex, but Frank has performance issues. Frank starts talking to Lassie about what happened at his wedding. Lassie remembers that she saw the video on the internet and thought that it was the saddest thing she ever saw. Lassie starts kissing Frank while cussing at his ex-fiance. Frank gets an erection, and they finally end up having sex.The next morning, Lassie is gone & Bruce reveals to Frank that he filmed the 2 having sex & has dropped the video off to Jack. Frank is livid even though Bruce claims that Frank is jealous that Bruce has made something of her life now. Bruce says that all movies have sex in them, but Frank's movie had impotence in it, which almost no films have. Frank & Bruce drive to Jack's place & find that Lassie is Jack's daughter when she walks through the front door. Bruce takes Jack's DVD player & throws it in his pool before he can watch the DVD, claiming that the DVD player was sparking. Lassie doesn't like her father Jack too much and is suspicious of Frank when she finds that Frank knows Jack. Frank convinces Lassie that only Bruce knows Jack and asks her out on a real date.Bruce & Frank return at night to pick the DVD only to find that Jack had given the DVD player to his maid to get it fixed. The maid lives in the Hispanic part of town and as part of a large family. The maid's brothers scare Bruce and Frank off their property.Bruce manipulates Frank (by saying that he already has 2 strikes on his record) in breaking into the maid's house to retrieve the player, which he does. But Frank is caught & Bruce abandons him after taking the DVD player from him. Frank's dad bails him out the next morning. Then Frank finds out that Bruce has given a copy to his girlfriend for editing to protect Frank's identity. When Frank watches the video, he sees that he is still clearly visible in the video. When Frank starts to fight, she uploads the video to the internet. The website owners refuse to take the video down for 72 hours.Bruce is worried that Frank will shoot him if he finds that video. So Bruce turns to a transgender hacker Phillis (who stole 20 million from a bank), to pull the video from the internet. Frank has to smoke pot, dance & look at the transgender's vagina, before she pulls the video down. But the owners of the website had a local copy of the video & they upload it to you tube where it gets millions of hits.Lassie was having feelings for Frank, but then she finds her co-workers at work watching the video on you tube & she is really angry at Frank & she breaks up with him. Frank goes back to his trailer in the desert & Bruce is simply unrepentant as usual. Phil calls Frank & tells him that Lassie is moving to China.Bruce comes to visit Frank in the desert & Frank locks him in his trailer. Frank takes the car & goes to apologize to Lassie. Lassie agrees & decides to stay back & they get back together.
